Maple Syrup

What makes Gebbie's Maplehurst Farm better than other maple syrup?

Much like fine wines, chocolate, and coffee, the taste of pure maple syrup is dependent upon the environmental conditions under which the trees live and produce their sap. Our old-growth, North-facing sugarbush is located high in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont at an elevation of approximately 2000 ft. This unique mix of elevation, pressure, climate, and sunlight yields maple syrup that has proven since the 1850’s to be remarkably light in color yet rich in robust maple flavor. Our extraordinary quality has been sought out by maple aficionados and premier chefs worldwide. We believe that you’ll find no finer pure maple syrup.

What's so special about Vermont maple syrup?

Vermont produces more Maple Syrup than any other U.S. state, and for good reasons. The climate, soil, and native maple trees are perfect for the production of maple sap. Vermont was the first state to enact legislation regulating maple purity and quality. Vermont’s strict grading system and intense protection of quality standards ensure that when you buy Vermont maple syrup, you’re getting the highest quality product exactly as you order it. In comparison to the grading and quality standards followed in Canada and other U.S. states, Vermont maple syrup is made to a higher standard of density with more sugar and less water, and any deviation from the standards can result in large fines to the producers. Vermont takes maple syrup quality very seriously.

Remember, Vermont maple syrup is 100% pure with absolutely no additives or adulterations.

What grade should I choose?

For more information about selecting your favorite grade, see our guide to maple syrup grades . Alternatively, you can simply select the “Surprise Me” option when ordering.

Please note that availability varies according to harvest conditions, container type, and demand. We make every effort to ensure that the availability shown in the online shopping section is accurate; however, it is possible that we will sell out of a specific container/grade combination before we can update the site. If this occurs, we will contact you quickly to resolve the situation and issue a refund if necessary.

I do not see the Vermont maple product I was looking for on your site, what should I do?

Feel free to contact us . We may not have every available item online, or at the very least we can point you in the right direction.

Are your products organic?

Our maple products are made with sap and methods that fully meet the requirements of an “organic” product. They are not, however, USDA certified as organic. Obtaining USDA certification is a very costly process that would in no way require a change, be it positive or negative, in our sap collection and processing practices. Obtaining certification would therefore only result in a higher price for our customers without any benefit to the environment or change in the final product. Our maple products are 100% pure with no artificial additives.

Ordering

What forms of payment do you accept? This will need updating

We accept all major credit cards and direct checking account debit via PayPal,  and we also accept checks and money orders through the mail.

When you checkout, you will be given an option to choose either immediate payment or to proceed with a direct order though the mail.

Keep in mind that paying with PayPal does not require that you create an account, though many people find it more convenient to do so.

How do I know my transaction is secure?

How will the transaction appear on my credit/debit billing statement?

When purchasing via credit/debit through PayPal, expect to see a reference to PayPal and Farm1850s.

What if I am not happy with my order?

If you’re not satisfied with your order, please contact us . We will replace or refund any defective or unsatisfactory product. We do usually require that the defective product be returned at our cost for examination.

What if I'm ordering as a gift? This will change

If you’re ordering as a gift, please indicate as such when adding your items to your cart by selecting “Yes” at the appropriate drop-down menu. We will contact you after the order is placed to arrange the details of a personalized gift message to be included with the package. Alternatively, you may proactively contact us  with the gift message you would like to be included and any other special instructions or fill out the “Note to Seller” field in the checkout form.

Shipping

What are the shipping options?

All domestic orders will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail by default, and this is the service included for free with your purchase. If you would like or need a different shipping service/speed, please contact us  directly for options and pricing. We are also happy to ship internationally, but you must contact us  directly to discuss options and pricing.

How long will it take to receive my order?

The exact processing and shipping time depend on the nature and size of your order, but all orders should ship within seven business days at most. From the time of shipment, most orders will delivery in 2-3 business days via USPS Priority Mail.

 

What if I need to return my order?

Please contact us directly before initiating a return.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes, we are happy to ship internationally, but please contact us  first to discuss options and pricing.
